The Throwdown On The USS Midway
Typically when an aircraft carrier has Frogs on board they are usually of The US Navy SEAL type, not the newest innovation in fitness. I guess the common denominator, however, would be when you encounter either type of these Frogs, you’re about to get an ass whoopin!
On September 24th. The USS Midway will have over a dozen Frogs asking for permission to come aboard to start the assault on 30+ teams of athletes all competing at the first annual “Kettlebells and Alarmbells” fitness event.
The job of a Navy Frogman is to sneak up on their adversary and surprise them with shock and awe and that is exactly what the “Next Big Thing In Fitness” will be doing to these unsuspecting athletes.
Typically at these event the WOD (workout of the day) is published for the athletes so they know what to expect and they can prepare for the event and there is usually one surprise event that ambushes the athletes. Given the fact that most people have yet to see or use The Frog, everyone will be caught off guard by the butt kickin’ this product puts on EVERYONE who has ever tried it!
We have 250 yards of runway to play with, and my experience has shown me that these athletes have no clue what terror awaits them…. No different than what happens anytime an adversary unfortunately crosses paths with some of the finest warriors our US Military produces through BUDS training.
Our goal at Frog Fitness, as title sponsors of this event, is to pull out all the stops (just like we do at any event we attend). I am reaching out to my Navy SEAL buddies to have a Frogman jump in, we’re reaching out to former American Idol contestants to come sing our National Anthem and the grand finale will happen with what we are referring to as “The Hero WOD”.
This workout will be dedicated to a fallen warrior of our choice and we didn’t need to look far to find this true American hero. As fate would have it, our resident kinesiologist Joel Metzger had a very good friend lose his life in a battle in Afghanistan when his vehicle unfortunately was blown up by an IED.
The HERO WOD will be in the name of Sgt. Joe Johnson and the workout will be designed by Joel himself to memorialize the memory of his fallen comrade and close friend. When Frog Fitness CEO, Richard Pearce pulled Joel aside and told him this was happening Joel immediately broke into tears and walked outside to call Joe’s mother Teri Johnson where she too began to cry and also make her airline arrangements to come see her son be honored for the hero he is.
So, if you’re in the San Diego area on Sept.24th and want to show your patriotism, make your way to the USS Midway and ask for permission to come aboard.
